Another day of not much. Our morning visit saw Max doing relatively well, with one big desat and braddy. He did go quite pale, but recovered quickly.
Apparently the braddys are all linked to the breathing which is linked to brain development. Hopefully he’ll grow out of them. As he has come off the ventilator, he’s having them daily – about 3-6 per day.
He is oedematous again, so he’s had some diuretics to help the removal of excess fluid. Unfortunately, the arm with his central line inserted is also very puffy – more than the other arm – so that line has had to be taken out. The only place they could get one in was in his head. His head. His gorgeous wee head that has had stuff over it, pushing against it, and now in it. For some reason this makes me feel very down. Poor sweetheart.
He’s also had another blood transfusion (mine), which was due to a low haemoglobin count. Hopefully this will help him stop looking so pale, like this morning.
