Two more stable days, however his weight gain went from the sublime to the ridiculous. On the 12th he was most definitely oedematous. In fact, the staff said he looks like a mini Michelin man. His weight then was 1985g! So, back on the lasics. Over the next 24 hours his urine output was 300ml (ie 300g), yet still managed to put on weight! On the 13th his weight was 2030g. So, more lasics.
He had his eye test on the 13th as well – still OK, yay Max. His breathing etc is not much different, probably a little better. When we went in in the morning we were thrilled to see him really settled even though he’d had no chloral over the previous 12 hours.
It sounds like his bowel re-section surgery will be on the 26th – barring any issues. In fact, his latest liver function test (LFT) actually showed an improvement, so that’s great. His hernia is still reducible. I gave more blood as his haemoglobin count had dropped again
